Why It’s Ideal For Hardware Wallets Like Trezor

ZEC-Pay bridges the gap between Trezor and shielded Zcash. Keep signing transactions on your hardware wallet, then have us convert, shield and deliver ZEC with your 512-byte memo to the recipient’s z-address.

No additional software or accounts: Continue using Trezor Suite as usual. Create a ZEC-Pay order, scan the QR code and send the exact quoted amount from your hardware wallet. There is no registration, no KYC and no need to manage a Zcash full node. This makes ZEC-Pay a practical way to send shielded Zcash from a Trezor while keeping your existing operational setup unchanged.

Private shielded delivery with preserved memos: We handle the swap (if needed), shielding and memo injection so the recipient receives funds directly to a shielded z-address with your 512-byte memo intact. Use the memo for invoice numbers, purchase orders, donation notes, contact details or any human-readable reference that simplifies reconciliation and record-keeping.

Operational clarity and refunds: Each order has a one-time deposit address and a live rate quote. If the market moves beyond the locked tolerance before your payment confirms, ZEC-Pay automatically returns the original funds to your refund address (minus network fees). This removes ambiguity and protects you from unintended fills during volatility.

Hardware-wallet security end-to-end: Private keys never leave your device. You sign a normal BTC or t-ZEC spend inside Trezor; ZEC-Pay performs the conversion and shielding on your behalf. This preserves the core threat model of a hardware wallet while enabling private Zcash payments that a native Trezor workflow cannot produce directly.

Enterprise-grade memo workflows: Because the Zcash memo is part of the shielded transaction, the recipient can reliably tie your payment to an invoice, order or contract. For merchants and service providers who require memo-based reconciliation, ZEC-Pay makes Trezor funding compatible with their shielded invoicing processes.

Fast settlement with simple UX: After two confirmations on the funding chain, we finalize the swap if applicable, shield the funds and dispatch the payment. You get a straightforward experience: create order → send exact amount → receive shielded delivery. This minimizes friction for recurring payouts, donations and contractor payments that prefer private ZEC.

How It Works With Trezor

Use ZEC-Pay to send shielded Zcash with Trezor in minutes. Sign a standard BTC or transparent ZEC payment in Trezor Suite; ZEC-Pay handles conversion, shielding, and memo so your private, memo-enabled ZEC arrives at the recipient’s z-address exactly as specified.

1 · Create Your Order

Open ZEC-Pay / Pay and enter the recipient’s shielded z-address, the precise ZEC amount to deliver and your memo (useful for invoice IDs, purchase orders or donation notes). Add a refund address you control so funds can return automatically if conditions change before processing. ZEC-Pay then calculates the total, accounts for network fees and prepares a one-time deposit address dedicated to this order to ensure clean reconciliation and a clear audit trail.

2 · Choose Funding Asset

Select BTC or transparent ZEC as the source of funds. If you choose BTC, ZEC-Pay performs a Bitcoin → Zcash conversion at live market rates within a defined tolerance window; if you choose t-ZEC, we simply shield and forward the funds. In both cases, your memo is attached to the final shielded transaction. The quote you see reflects prevailing prices and expected network fees so you know exactly what to send and what the recipient will receive once the order confirms.

3 · Send From Trezor

In Trezor Suite, send the exact quoted amount to the order’s deposit address shown by ZEC-Pay. Because the transaction is signed on your hardware wallet, your seed phrase and private keys never leave the device. After broadcasting, wait for the required two confirmations on the funding chain. Sending the precise amount avoids under/overpayment delays and ensures your order proceeds automatically once confirmations arrive.

4 · Swap, Shield & Dispatch

After confirmations, ZEC-Pay executes the swap if needed, shields the funds and injects your 512-byte memo into the outgoing shielded transaction. We then broadcast the payment to the destination z-address you specified. You can share the resulting transaction ID with the recipient for bookkeeping, and the memo ensures they can match the payment to the correct invoice or reference without off-chain coordination.

5 · Safety Net

If market conditions move outside the locked tolerance before your funding transaction confirms, your original funds are automatically returned to your refund address (minus network fees). This policy helps protect you from unexpected price swings, ensuring you either receive the quoted service or a prompt refund without manual support requests. You can simply create a new order when conditions are acceptable and complete the payment on your preferred schedule.
